I have a VPS with Knownhost, coming from Hostgator. I certainly like KH more, both in their quality of servers and most importantly in their customer support. Several times I’ve needed to contact support for help with setting up an SSL, email port inquiries, etc, but never because there was a problem with my sever.
I host about 10 other sites on the same VPS, all are on the low side of resource requirements and traffic. I opted to be placed on their Los Angels, CA datacenter as apposed to the Dallas, TX one. I’m not sure if there is much of a difference, but so far I’m pleased. I do know that the LA center is newer, though.
All in all I imagine being content with KH in the future, and may need to upgrade to a higher VPS account as I host more and more sites. The pricing is very fair for the servers, and you can’t beat their customer support. Very recommended!
I’ve been with KH for over a year now, a year and a month to be exact, and am very happy to report that I have had absolutely no problems with them or their service, whatsoever.
I’ve only written in to the support staff to talk about upgrading my package, as my site has expanded greatly on their servers. They’ve handled every ticket quickly, and with the responses you’d want from the very start.
I’ve had VERY little down-time, if any at all. I won’t say there was none, but to be honest with you, I actually can’t remember any at all.
After having been with 10+ hosts since the 90′s, I can tell you that this is the host that you’re looking for. They’re a place to call home for your sites, without question.
